Manchester City reignited the Premier League title race with a commanding 3-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, closing the gap to six points behind leaders Arsenal.
After a cagey first half, City exploded into life after the break, scoring three goals in a devastating 17-minute spell that left Chelsea reeling on home soil.
The breakthrough came in the 51st minute when Nico O’Reilly powered home a header after shrugging off Andrey Santos, meeting a pinpoint cross from Rayan Cherki.
City doubled their lead just six minutes later, with Cherki again the provider. His delivery found former Chelsea defender Marc Guehi, who calmly slotted into the bottom corner to silence the home crowd.
The visitors sealed the dominant display in the 68th minute when Jeremy Doku capitalised on a costly error by Moises Caicedo, stealing possession just outside the area before firing past a stranded Robert Sanchez.
The victory gives City crucial momentum ahead of a potentially decisive clash with Arsenal next weekend, especially after the league leaders slipped to defeat against Bournemouth.
With a game in hand, Pep Guardiola’s side have firmly thrust themselves back into contention.
However, the Blues remain sixth in the table, now four points behind Liverpool in fifth.
