The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced an automated process for verifying and uploading candidates’ O’Level results, eliminating the need for candidates to rely solely on manual submission.
Under the new arrangement, JAMB will verify candidates’ results directly from the examination bodies responsible for conducting the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), beginning with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
The development is part of the board’s efforts to improve the efficiency, accessibility and reliability of its admission processes while reducing challenges associated with the manual verification and uploading of O’Level results.
Through the automated system, candidates’ results can be authenticated directly from the relevant examination bodies, helping to minimise errors, delays and the submission of unverifiable credentials.
JAMB said the initiative was designed to provide a more seamless experience for candidates and strengthen the integrity of the admission process.
The board noted that the arrangement would also enhance its ability to detect discrepancies in candidates’ academic records by relying on information obtained directly from the authorised examination bodies.
The automation of the verification process is expected to further simplify the admission process for candidates, institutions and other stakeholders, while ensuring that only genuine academic credentials are used in determining admission eligibility.
JAMB said the initiative would be expanded to cover other relevant examination bodies as the system develops.
