Governor Idris Defends Support For Tinubu, Cites Benefits To Kebbi
Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has defended his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the partnership between the state and the Federal Government has brought tangible benefits to Kebbi.
The governor said his administration’s relationship with the Tinubu-led Federal Government has improved the state’s access to federal appointments, security support, and agricultural interventions.
According to him, President Tinubu has given Kebbi a greater role in recommending qualified indigenes for appointments into federal boards and commissions, while also paying attention to issues affecting the state’s representation in the federal civil service.
He also highlighted the Federal Government’s support for security operations in the state, noting that the administration has complemented Kebbi’s efforts to tackle banditry.
Governor Idris further cited federal agricultural interventions, including food and farming support, as part of the collaboration that has strengthened food production and benefited farmers across the state.
He maintained that Kebbi has gained from aligning with the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government and called on party members to mobilise support for President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
The governor, however, acknowledged that every Nigerian has the constitutional right to vote for candidates of their choice based on their conscience and assessment of their records.
