A 55-year-old motorist narrowly escaped death after a moving train crushed his Honda car at the PWD railway crossing in Lagos on Friday morning.
The incident involved a train travelling towards Agege and a Honda car with registration number EKY 902 JT.
According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the driver was rescued unhurt following the collision.
LASTMA’s Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Adebayo Taofiq, said operatives of the agency and security personnel responded to the incident and rescued the motorist.
Although the collision left the car crushed, the driver reportedly escaped without injuries.
The incident has once again highlighted the dangers associated with railway crossings and the need for motorists to exercise caution around moving trains.
