Jos Crisis: Benue Students Back Alia For Second Term After Rescue Operation

Benue State students studying at the University of Jos have endorsed Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia for a second term, even as the state government moved swiftly to evacuate them following the ongoing crisis in Jos.

The evacuation exercise, which took place under tight security, saw over 30 buses deployed by the Benue State Government to convey the students safely out of the troubled areas.

The move was part of efforts to safeguard the lives of indigenes amid rising tensions in Plateau State.

Speaking during the evacuation, some of the students expressed appreciation to the governor for his prompt intervention, describing it as timely and reassuring.

They said the decision to provide transport and security demonstrated leadership and concern for their welfare.

The students, while pledging support for Governor Alia’s second term bid, urged other leaders to prioritise the safety of citizens during periods of unrest.
