The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results and provided guidelines for candidates to access their scores online.
WAEC announced that candidates can now check their results immediately after obtaining their result checker PIN and serial number through the council’s approved platforms.
To begin, candidates are required to have their examination number, serial number and PIN.
Those who do not have their PIN and serial number can retrieve them through the WAEC portal by selecting the “serial number and PIN” option, choosing the examination year, entering their examination number and National Identification Number (NIN), and providing their email address and phone number to receive a one-time password (OTP).
After entering the OTP, candidates can successfully recover their serial number and PIN. WAEC also stated that candidates can download their WAEC identification cards on their mobile devices.
Candidates are then required to visit the WAEC result-checking portal at www.waecdirect.org and enter their 10-digit examination number, which consists of their seven-digit centre number and three-digit candidate number.
They must select the examination year as 2026 and choose the appropriate examination type before entering the recovered serial number and PIN.
After submitting the details, the candidate’s result will be displayed on the device.
WAEC advised candidates to print copies of their results for future reference and official purposes.
